Cartoons should be California themed or appeal to a California audience.
Published Quarterly. Black and white
Limit: 20 Cartoon submissions total.
Single panel B&W cartoons, shading is optional.
Since we are a publication focused on California and the
West, we ask that the cartoons either deal with that or would appeal to an audience from there. All
submissions should not have been previously published elsewhere or submitted to Alta before. Also, one of
the things that make California so special is the diversity of its population both racially and culturally. We try hard to make sure our coverage reflects this. I would encourage you to have your submission images better
reflect that. It is important that all people see themselves in the media.
